Codewords Instructions

A coded crossword in which each letter of the alphabet A – Z is represented by one number from 1 – 26. You must work out which number represents each of the letters in the alphabet to complete the puzzle. Answers may be words or phrases; no indication is given if the answer is a single word or a multi-word phrase or expression, you must work it out from the letters in the grid whilst solving the puzzle.

The interface is designed to make it simple to play the puzzle. Simply enter a
letter into the pink key grid at the bottom of the puzzle corresponding to the number that you think codes for that letter. If you think that the letter ‘L’ is represented by 7, then enter an ‘L’ in box 7. When you do this, all instances of 7
in the grid will be replaced by ‘L’ automatically.

If you change your mind, simply delete the letter you have placed in a box. All
instances of that letter will be replaced again with the original number. Three clue letters are given and placed at the start of the puzzle to help you get going.  You can click ‘view solution’ if you get stuck, and also reset the grid if you want to
start again.
